全球人醫的榮耀 Glory of the Global TIMA

首先向全球慈濟人醫會致上敬愛之意，千聲萬聲都說不盡那分敬愛，因為這幾年來，全球人醫會，普遍在每個角落、每個國家，用愛付出，發揮仁醫仁術，愛人救人，無所求的付出。所以在台灣的四月二十四日，由大林慈院林俊龍院長，以及花蓮慈院張耀仁副院長，接受醫療團體奉獻獎的表揚。的確非常感恩，就是因為我們有這樣的醫療團隊，普遍在天地間，將醫療奉獻在人類之間，才能獲此肯定。
First of all, I would like to express my love and respect to the Global TIMA. Nothing, even with thousands of thanks, can express how much love and respect I have for them. This is because in these few years, in every corner of the globe, the Global TIMA delivers love, humanity, and medical services to rescue people and they devote themselves without asking for anything in return. Thus, on April 24, in Taiwan, President Lin, Jin-lon of Da Lin Tzu Chi Hospital and Vice President, Chang, Yau-zen of Hualien Tzu Chi Hospital accepted the Contribution Award of Medical Group. I’m indeed very grateful for having such a medical team going all over the world to contribute medical services to human beings so as to receive such recognition.
所以我要說感恩，真是「仁醫大愛無國界」，而且他們「以病苦為師，以人為本」。每次我感恩良醫、大醫王，許多苦難蒼生，因為你們的愛，拔除他們的苦難，醫師們反而都會說，要感恩的是我們，讓我們能面對許多不同的病、罕見的病例，我們能看到、體會到、能學習到，許許多多疾病的狀況。所以，醫師們都會說「以病為師，以人為本」。
So, I must say thank-you. Indeed, “compassionate doctors with great love transcend country boundaries.” Additionally they “learn from those who are suffering as if they were their teachers, and serve human beings as their basis.” Every time I thank the excellent doctors, the great kings of medicine, for taking care of the suffering people by extinguishing their suffering, the doctors would instead say that they themselves should offer thanks since they had the opportunity to encounter and face many different diseases and rare cases. They appreciate the fact that they learn about many varieties of illnesses. Thus, they all express to “learn from those who are suffering as if they were their teachers and serve human beings as their basis.”
慈濟這種仁醫遍及全球，而且造福五大洲病患，有慈濟人的地方，就有這樣的大醫王去撫慰、幫助。所以全球人醫會，目前已經有兩千多人，這兩千多位大醫王共同的一個目標，就是愛的付出。
Such compassionate doctors of Tzu Chi are all over the world to help patients in five continents. Where there is a Tzu Chi member, there is a doctor who consoles and helps. So, currently there are more than 2,000 members in the Global TIMA. The common goal of more than 2,000 great kings of medicine is the rendering of love.
每個國家因為文化不同，都有不一樣的特色。比如：東南亞的人醫會，他們的特色就是可以當場進行甲狀腺開刀；在美國，慈濟人醫會的特色，是不但施醫施藥，有時還會發放物資、牙醫保健等等。
Because of cultural differences, every country has its uniqueness. For example, the TIMA’s of South East Asia have the trait of conducting thyroid operations on the spot. In the U.S.A., the traits of Tzu Chi TIMA’s are not only are to render medical services and medications, but sometimes also distribute materials of necessity as well as provide dental care, etc.
早上，美國洛杉磯在義診，過程中，有很多感人的事，所以，大愛主播與美國的歐陽居士做現場電話連線時，他就說：「我們剛好剛結束，在收拾了。所以現在要開始出門，到醫院關懷病患。」他們關懷病患的時刻就是義診結束的時候。
In the morning, a free clinic was held in Los Angeles, U.S.A. and there were many touching stories throughout the event. So, during the online live phone connection on Da Ai (Great Love) T.V., Mr. Ou Yang told the main broadcaster, “We have just finished tidying things up. Thus, we are about to head out to take care of patients in the hospital.” The time when they take care of patients is when the free clinic ends
慈濟人，人醫也一樣，這裡開始要做，那裡開始要休息；所以慈濟永遠都是日不落世界。
In Tzu Chi, the same applies to the humanity of the doctors: When work starts here, rest begins there. Thus, Tzu Chi is forever a “world of a non-setting sun.”
中南美洲人醫會的特色，就是以皮膚科、眼科為主，有的是老花眼、近視眼等等，這不是用醫藥治療，所以他們還會幫他們配眼鏡。
The traits of Central and South American TIMA’s are mainly in dermatology and ophthalmology. Some (patients) are farsightedness, whereas others are shortsightedness. These do not require medical treatments so the doctors help them to match eyeglasses.
台灣的人醫會，我們分成十支隊伍，從北自基隆頭一直到屏東台灣尾，都有我們人醫會成員。他們會進入無醫村，發放藥箱，這就是台灣人醫會的特色。
There are ten teams in the Taiwan TIMA. From Keelong in the north, all the way to Pingdong in the south of Taiwan, our TIMA members are there. They go to villages without medical services to distribute medical boxes. This is the trait of Taiwan’s TIMA.
除了給他們醫藥箱之外，還要做衛教，教他們如何保護健康，如何生活，好好維持衛生觀念，攝食健康飲食等等，這都是預防的衛生教育。
In addition to giving them medical boxes, there are training sessions in sanitation to teach them how to take care of one’s health, to live properly, to apply concepts for maintaining sanitation, and to have healthy food and beverage intakes. This is preventive sanitary education.
南區人醫會，一樣到沒有醫師、交通不方便的地方，他們還會到殘障、智障的收容所、教養院，甚至每個星期、每個月，也會跨越本島，到小金門、澎湖等等離島去義診。
The South TIMA does the same by going to the places without doctors and places with a lack of transportation. They go visit shelters for the handicapped, the mentally retarded and midway houses. Every week or month, they even go offshore to the Quemoy (Kinmen) Isle (or Little Quemoy), the Pescadores (the Penhus), etc. to conduct free clinics.
在東區也一樣，都是到山上偏遠地區，譬如前天星期六，到了利稻、比較深山的地方，由關山醫院到山上去義診，要在當地過一夜，兩天時間在那裡做健康檢查與義診，平常也會到靜埔、豐濱，就是花蓮的醫院。大林也常去往診，或常到大埔等等，感恩的事情很多，真的講不完。
It’s the same in the East. They go to barren places in the mountains; for example, last Saturday, they went to Lee-dao, a village deep in the mountains. They came from the Kuan-san Hospital to do free clinics in the mountains and had one night of sleep in order to conduct two-day health examinations and free clinics. Regularly, doctors from the (Tzu Chi) Hualien Hospital go to Jin-pu, and Fon-pin. Doctors from the Da Lin Hospital perform medical services frequently. They sometimes go to Da-pu, etc. There are so many things to thank. I truly can’t describe them all.
雖然我在花蓮，但是心天天都飛越全球，每一次我都從內心虔誠感恩與祝福，所有良醫、福慧人，大家用妙手妙法摸觸到身體病苦人的身上，而且用愛去膚慰他們的心靈。這都是遍布在全球。
Even though I’m in Hualien, my mind flies all over the world everyday. Every time deep through my heart, I am piously thankful for and (piously) bless all the wonderful doctors. These wise and fortunate people use their wonderful hands and doctrines to touch those who are suffering and sooth their minds with love. This happens all over the world.
