TIMA USA Services
Care with Compassion, Gave with Joy

From Indonesia to the Philippines, from El Salvador to Peru, from South Africa to Taiwan, the Tzu Chi International Medical Association (TIMA) has provided professional healthcare volunteers, medical supplies, and hope to thousands of people. Whether we are handing out medical kits in Mongolia, providing medical services in a remote village in Vietnam, or providing wheelchairs for children in Jordan, everyday in many countries around the world TIMA volunteers are making a difference in people's lives.

TIMA also currently operates free clinics in nine countries including: Taiwan, United States, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Indonesia, Vietnam, Singapore, the Philippines, and Malaysia. Each TIMA branch conducts regular free clinics at fixed sites, or provides medical services during outreach missions in the surrounding urban and rural communities.

Besides providing medical services, TIMA also hopes to build a healthy community through providing basic preventative health education. Two of the ways TIMA disseminates this important information is through health fairs and medical seminars that are open to the public.

TIMA is composed of medical professionals and civilians who volunteer their expertise and time towards missions in their own communities and worldwide. TIMA is dedicated to implementing long-term programs to recruit and train local medical and non-medical volunteers. The objective is to set up medical stations in areas with insufficient medical resources in order to provide long-term care, as well as building a core to support international medical missions.

During major natural and manmade disasters, TIMA members from different regions often work together to deliver aid to victims. International medical missions are assembled quickly and efficiently in order to service those in need in an effective, safe, respectful and compassionate manner.
